Each year Circulate San Diego hosts the Momentum Awards to award citizens and groups who promote walkable neighborhoods by connecting communities and creating a healthier, more sustainable way of life. This year, Council member Todd Gloria presented a “Citizen of the Year” award to Dr. Sherry Nooravi for her efforts toward bringing pedestrian and bicyclist safety to the Torrey Pines Road corridor, a nearly one mile stretch of road with no crossing or complete sidewalks. A big thank you goes to Council member Sherri Lightner and Circulate San Diego for their support on this project. Dr. Nooravi looks forward to seeing Vision Zero become a reality: Zero traffic related deaths in San Diego by 2025.
